HARPER'S BAZAAR w/ Adriana Lima -
Shot at Pier 59 in NYC. I’ve worked on quite a few shoots with Adriana Lima over the last 10 years and she is super cool. The idea for the story was to create spontaneous, free flowing, sexy hairstyles.
Adriana has long, shiny, healthy hair and she knows exactly how it falls. The idea – to catch the shape in movement with some trailing hair and imperfections – needed a base that could be styled and shot quickly, holding long enough for Nico the photographer to freeze frame on the perfect moment.
I decided to use a super full volume roots lifter from Revlon, the Elevator Spray, using this allowed me to move Adriana’s hair in many directions and still maintain a style and shape. For extra shine I used Farouk Silk Therapy Shine for a super gloss look with a touch of a wet feeling .
To hold the shapes I had created I used the aptly named Photo Finisher Hairspray from Revlon so I could freeze the style for a minute for each shot before going on to the next. The spray left no white residue anywhere even though I used it each time while moving her hair from one side to the other and shaping it differently for each shot.
