Model: Bambi Northwood Blyth
BAZAAR ESPAÑA w/ Bambi Northwood-Blythe -
When I looked at the call sheet and I saw Bambi’s name I was super happy to be working with her she is a very sweet Aussie model. The fashion was a kind of Haute Couture, 12 pages and the cover. A day at Studio Zéro.
For the starting mood for the story Nico introduced a strong feeling of an 80’s look. I knew the hair would have many variations during the story so I created a solid base using foam on wet hair from Oribe. It’s a great product to bring thickness and silk and with a little work using a medium size curling iron the base was set. Now I could shape her hair up or down as the story demanded with my $10 mini paddle brush, a hair brush that has the perfect balance, form and weight for me – very comfortable to use.
In my head I had all the 80s hair clichés from a UK vogue shooting with Jerry Hall to some Roxy Music album covers, iconic images from Helmut Newton and all the new wave star singers from the early 80′s. I used a very good serum from Phyto to get a maximum glossy sheen for each look.
See my 2011 portfolio highlights the shine in the original published images was tremendous.
It was a very cool day with a great team and the photographs look amazing.
