HARPER'S BAZAAR w/ Daiane Contrero Picasso's Women -
Mid-july and it’s a hot, steamy day in New York. Luckily we are shooting inside at Pier 59 studio for a beauty story for Bazaar, with the super talented beauty photographer Ben Hassett and makeup master Kabuki.
Picasso is our inspiration, our muse for the day !
Daiane Contrero is a cool, relaxed brazilian model. The styling by amazing Anna Trevelyan is inspired, modern, flashy colors conjuring Picasso. Kabuki creates an incredible mask for Daiane, a 3-D makeup sculpture! We decide the hair should be extreme with lots of volume and shine, but slick and sharp, geometrical with pure lines to reference Picasso’s paintings.
Tools & Products:
How I created this look:
I wet the hair thoroughly
added some René Furterer Styling Mousse from the roots to the mid length
using a large tooth comb, I combed the mousse through the hair so it was smooth as silk with no knots or tangles
I used a medium round brush to blow-dry the hair
to keep the style uniform and add volume and lift, I teased the roots quite a bit and some of the mid-length
to soften the surface and shape the style I used a paddle brush and brushed lightly
to finish I used two hairsprays from René Furterer. A finishing spray to keep the shape stable and uniform and a glossing spray for shine and silk
