VOGUE RUSSIA РОССИЯ w/ Ieva Laguna 40s Hairstyles -
It was a very cool day in London at Spring Studio. Working with a great make up artist Max Delorme, Simon Robbins from Russian Vogue and photographer Matt Irwin. The idea was for Ieva to play a character from the 1940s.
Creating six to seven 40s hairstyles was a great technical hair trip back in time. I used a special technique so the hair could be worked into many different styles and still be comfortable for the model. This technique does not use any extensions or hair pieces.
I worked with a GHD Hair Product – a volumiser.
First I wet the hair and added mousse (foam) to increase the thickness of the hair and amp up the volume.
Next, I used a medium curling iron to create soft waves and then I teased the hair gently so I could roll it into the shapes I had in my mind’s eye.
To hold the hairstyle in place I used a medium hold hairspray from Schwarzkopf and a mini flat brush, which I used to polish the hair rolls to get a silky effect.
