VOGUE CHINA 服饰与美容 w/ Chiharu Okunugi -
It was a beautiful spring morning in the deep woods of Saint Cloud Park in Paris where we were on location for a Vogue China Beauty Editorial, November 2014 issue with Chiharu Okunungi
A cool crew all around, great team! David the photographer was a pleasure to work with and Rebecca our stylist was brim full of amazing energy and humor in this dark forest.
The inspiration for this beauty story “Silent Forest” was fairy tales, ghosts, enchanted woods – and Chiharu was our princess. As this was a beauty story not a fashion editorial I proposed very long hair beautiful, black, silky, flowing hair – but with the addition of white extensions to create a fashion forward, glamorous look and with a nod to the spirit of contrast – yin / yang, dark / light, black & white hairstyle.
To create this look:
I blow-dried Chiharu’s hair with no products
I used a flat iron to bring out the silkiness of the hair texture.
I added a few bleached white Hair Extensions
I brushed on Color Wow root cover up for a natural color transition between the white and black hair.
I finished off with a few drops of Phytolisse serum to maintain the shine and softness so I could work the hair with my paddle brush throughout the day to keep it looking beautiful.
